Reading native Brad Patches was therefore recruited as a Gretnabikes partner and shop manager. Brad is a veteran road, BMX and mountain bike racer with over twenty years of professional mechanical experience servicing bikes. He has the ability and experience to repair or upgrade any make, model or style, from classic 'Orange Krates' to
today's most elite rides. The shop is stocked with many hard-to-find components and accessories, as well as those most commonly demanded, from Shimano, Campagnolo, Mavic, SRAM to name a few. Brad maintains a full selection of tires and tubes, and services shocks in-house and bleeds hydraulic brakes.
Gretnabikes currently carries new Guerciotti frames, Knolly mountain bikes from the Canadian Rockies, and Eastern Woods Research (EWR) mountain bikes, designed near Philadelphia. Other cycle brands will be added in the near future.
Lupine Lights, whose Personal Lighting Systems represent the leading edge of lighting technology (a lamp little bigger than a golf ball, but as bright as a car headlight) are in stock for commuters and off-road riders. The 'system approach' of Lupine lights allow the user to easily move the lamp from handlebar to helmet or headband for Nordic skiing, night orienteering, barbecuing, etc. As a nod to the hi-performance LED emitters that power today's Lupine Lights (and to limit energy use), Gretnabikes retail shop and signage are lit with LED lighting modules.
The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday. Winter hours: TU, TH, FRI 11-7, W 11-5, SAT 10-2.
Feel free to stop in and see Brad, the flat screen TV, and his collection of classic bikes.
